Christmas time, Jesus birth celebration?

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.” Jesus birth represented the redemption plan for man being put in action. Messiah had finally come! How sad that so few were looking for him. Only Simeon and Anna the prophetess were looking for the redemption of Israel. “And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; [37] And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. [38] And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

I wonder how many are really looking for the second coming of Jesus Christ? Will it be in like percentage as the first coming was? Are we more concerned with how many shopping days till Christmas ,gift lists recipes and decorations that that day could come upon us unawares?

Didn’t the angel say it was good tidings of great joy to all people? Let us not forget this christmas time the purpose for which we were put into the kingdom. Let us  pray without ceasing and herald the plan of salvation and the soon return of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ!! He could come back this Christmas season. Will you be ready?
